Late in blogging….EDUCAUSE…..and “talking to ourselves”

October 24, 2007

OK, OK - I’ve heard from some of you who read my blog that I have “stopped blogging”.  I haven’t!  I’ve just been swamped and haven’t had time to jot down a few thoughts.  I’ll do better- I promise!

I’m at EDUCAUSE this week in Seattle.  The conference is sold out - no on site registration!  Good to see so many people here!

I brought along one of our new librarians, Nick Ruest to introduce him to a few of my friends and colleagues.  I think it’s important for those of us “more senior” to take the time to spend with our junior colleagues and to introduce them to the profession and our professional organizations.

On EDUCAUSE:  I think it’s also important that those of us who are librarians spend more time talking to others and maybe a little less talking to ourselves.  I like EDUCAUSE because I get to “hang” with faculty, IT, and others - not just my librarian colleagues.  It helps with the “big picture issues”.

Not a very good post but I’m sitting on the floor of the Seattle convention center and wanted to assure those of you who read my blog that I’m still alive and well….and blogging!

Cheers.
